Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees

Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The position is located at the section for international client matters and sentence calculation, which belongs to the legal department at the head office in Norrköping. The section has about 25 employees, including three case officers, two administrators, and the remaining are legal experts (lawyers).

JOB DESCRIPTION

The main task of the section is to handle and make decisions in centrally located client matters. This involves cases concerning the transfer of enforcement to and from other countries, cases of international alerts, and cases of sentence calculation. The section provides advice and support to other operations within the relevant legal areas and participates in the authority's practice coordination activities. The section also collaborates with other functions within the Kriminalvården and represents the authority in court in the cases handled by the section. The work includes external contacts with other authorities such as the Police Authority and the Prosecution Authority.

We are now looking for an employee for the section who will primarily work with the processing of sentence-related matters. However, it is important that you are flexible and also open to other tasks within the section.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• University or college education or other training combined with experience that Kriminalvården deems relevant
• Experience in case handling within Kriminalvården or other public sector
• Experience in decision-making in cases within Kriminalvården or other public sector
• Experience working with criminal judgments
• Good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience working with sentence calculation
• Experience working with counseling
• Experience working with Kriminalvården's client administrative systems
• Experience mentoring employees
• Good knowledge of administrative, criminal, and procedural law
